Personhood - Proved

This past October, we had the exciting opportunity to exhibit a new work - Proof of Personhood - at the Asian Art Museum’s RAD (Research and Development) space in San Francisco. Since early 2024, RAD has served as a dynamic 'beta' space for the museum, dedicated to developing innovative, interactive art experiences where both the art and its underlying technology are actively evolving. Working closely with Cheng Xu, the curator of RAD, and Eddie Contreras, technician at AAM, we created an interactive, projection-mapped exhibition in the Lee Gallery that was on for two weeks.

Arriving in San Francisco on October 2, we spent several days immersing ourselves in the space, creating, testing, and fine-tuning our installation — all to the constant backdrop of Psy's Gangnam Style playing 24/7 down the hallway from the Hallyu Korean Wave Exhibition. The final piece consists of 4 projectors, with spatialized audio playing from 4 speakers in the room, and a floor lamp that contributes nothing to the actual light but very much so towards the illusion.

We opened with an artist talk on October 6, explaining to a wonderful crowd of Sunday museum goers of all ages and watched them interact with our work for the first time. The reception was great, and led to many meaningful conversations about the themes behind the installation. We’re inspired by the enthusiastic reactions to the piece and hope to expand on it for other spaces in the future.
